    Dear Rogers High School Parent/Guardian,

    Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year at Rogers High School. We look forward to collaborating with our students, parents, and community to provide excellent opportunities for learning, growth, and development. We will continue to focus on our mission this year to provide an educational environment where all belong, all learn, all succeed. We are including general guidelines for the upcoming year in this letter and detailed plans may be found at rogersschools.net/rhs under the tab “Reopening.”

General Guidelines

  • At Home

    • Students need to practice good hygiene.
    • Students need to be fever free, no sore throat, no exposure to anyone with COVID-19 before coming to school. Parents screen students daily.
    • Students tested for COVID-19 and waiting for results should not come to school.

    Before School

    • Students are encouraged to arrive no earlier than 7:45 a.m. or when bus drops off.
    • Students will be expected to wear face coverings and social distance when on campus.
    • Grab and Go Breakfast will be provided for all students free of charge.
    • Students will be expected to honor social distancing using the cafeteria and outdoor eating areas.
    • Bus riders will be required to wear a face covering.

    At Home

    Lockers

    • Students will not have access to lockers.

    Transportation

    • Face coverings are required on the bus.
    • Practice social distancing at bus stops.
    • Buses will be loaded from back to front.
    • Seating charts will be used on the bus.
    • Buses will be sanitized twice a day.

    Daily Health Checks

    • Staff will check and document their own temperature.
    • Staff will document responses to questions about fever, sore throat or exposure to COVID-19.

    Procedures for a Sick Student

    • Call and/or email the attendance office stating the student's name, grade level, birth date, reason for being absent, and identify days that they will be absent.
    • Students will be expected to work remotely until they have been released back to school.
    • Students will be expected to check in at the nurse’s office when returning to school.

    Facilities

    • Hand sanitizer will be placed in main office and classrooms.
    • Signage will be used throughout campus to direct traffic in one direction.
    • Specific staff members will be used to disinfect building as their primary responsibility.

    Meet the Teacher

    • Teachers will use a virtual platform to introduce themselves and discuss expectations for their class.

    Fall Parent Teacher Conferences

    • All conferences will be student led through a guided process.
    • Parents will participate in the conference at home.
