FAFSA

Beginning MID-DECEMBER [NEW OPENING!], high school seniors (and any prospective college students) may begin completing the FAFSA (Free Application Federal Student Aid). You will need your 2023 tax information. Visit www.FAFSA.ed.gov to complete your form. Remember, you should NEVER pay to complete the FAFSA (it's FREE to complete).

For info on the new FAFSA Simplification Act changes, please click HERE.

Financial Aid Process
  1. Submit the FAFSA.
  2. A Student Aid Report (SAR) will be sent to you from the U.S. Department of Education. You can also access this document by logging into your FAFSA account 24-48 hours after you submit the application.
  3. The school(s) you apply to will use the SAR to determine your financial need.
  4. You should receive a financial aid award letter from the school(s) you applied to.
  5. You must accept or decline the financial aid awarded by your school.
  6. If you are receiving loans, you must complete separate documentation.

Families may get help with the FAFSA application through NWACC (regardless of whether or not your student plans to attend NWACC.)  Visit or phone the NWACC Financial Aid Office located on the second floor of the Becky Paneitz Student Center, Monday-Thursday, 8:00 am-6:00 pm and Friday 8:00 am-12:00 pm.  NWACC Financial Aid Contact Information: (479) 619-4000 or NWACC Financial Aid Department
