About the Scholarship Program
The Rogers Public Schools Community Based Scholarship Program was founded in 1990 by the Rogers-Lowell Chamber of Commerce and the Rogers Public Schools. It was created to provide financial assistance to our graduating seniors pursuing higher education. Unless otherwise stated in the individual scholarship's criteria, applicants must be graduating high school seniors of the Rogers Public School District, Rogers, Arkansas and plan to attend an accredited vocational school, college or university in the fall of 2023.
Scholarship awards range from $50 up to $32,000 unless otherwise stated and can only be applied towards the cost of attendance as submitted by your college. Applicants may be eligible for and may receive more than one scholarship award.

Smarter Select is the online application system for the RPS Community Based Scholarship Program. The link to the application is on the sidebar of this page. You do not have to complete the application all at once; it is broken down into pages and sections. You can save what you have completed and return at another time prior to the deadline. REMEMBER YOUR LOG-IN INFORMATION. You will NOT be able to access your application without the log-in. Sections within the application include: - Instructions
- Student Information
- Parent/Guardian Information
- Sibling Information
- Plans Following Graduation From High School
- Estimated Expenses for First Year
- Financial Information
- School Related Extra-Curricular Activities
- Award and Honors
- Community Involvement
- Hobbies and Leisure Activities
- Work Experiences
- Essay
- Transcript Place Holder PDF
- Your Scholarship Coordinator will insert your updated transcript into your application in the spring. In the meantime, please insert the Transcript Place Holder in the Transcript upload space.
- Unofficial ACT Scores
As of 2020, students are no longer able to directly download their ACT score as a PDF from their ACT website portal.
- To submit your ACT score for this application, take a screenshot of your score in your ACT account. Your name MUST be visible on the screenshot.
- How To Take a Screenshot on Your Chromebook: Link
- The screenshot will download as a PNG onto your computer. The application does not accept files in PNG format. You will need to turn the image into a PDF.
- OPTION ONE: Open a blank Google Doc in your RPS30 Google Drive. Insert or drag the PNG image into the blank Google Doc. Download the blank Google Doc as a PDF. Then you can upload that PDF for online applications.
- OPTION TWO: Open the PNG screenshot and hit the "PRINT" button. Print the image as a PDF. It should appear as a PDF on your desktop. Then you can upload that PDF for online applications.
- Current Photo
You do not need a professional photo, but please make sure it is a good image of you (not blurry.) Only include yourself in the photo (no group shots.)
- Parent/Guardian Statement
Your parent/guardian may fill out a statement section within the application. This optional section is available for them to tell why they think you deserve a scholarship, or additional financial information that donors should take into account. RHS can provide assistance in translating parent statements from Spanish.
- SUBMIT
Once your application is completed, remember to SUBMIT your application.
STEP TWO:
- Completed Community Scholarship Checklist [DEADLINE: 2/14/25 NOON]
Once your application has been completed, you will move to Step Two later in the year. You MUST fill out the Google Doc Individual Community Scholarship Checklist form, available on this page. You will put a check mark by each scholarship you want to apply to, as this form will tell us which donors to send your application. If you do not checkmark scholarships in your Google Doc checklist, your application will NOT be submitted to donors. Do not forget this step!
STEP THREE:
- Extra Documentation For Specific Scholarships (only if required)
Some Community Scholarships will require extra submitted materials. If you are applying for these particular scholarships, you will need to email the documents to your Scholarship Coordinator. They may include:- Additional applications
- Additional essays
- Recommendation letters [Fill out a Recommendation Letter Request and give your teachers and counselors plenty of time to write their letter. Do not wait until the last minute to ask your teachers and counselors, or you might not get one back in time. This is YOUR responsibility, not theirs.]
You are finished! You will be notified before the May 2025 RPS Community Scholarship Ceremony if you will be receiving a scholarship.
