SAT Suite of Assessments
- SAT - The SAT is a college-entrance exam that covers reading, writing, and mathematics. The SAT is delivered in an online format with multiple-choice questions over 134 minutes. Students can take the SAT on a national Saturday test administration day. The SAT predicts a 75% likelihood of achieving a C or higher in related first-semester, credit-bearing college courses. Most colleges and universities in the United States and around the world, including those that are test-optional, continue to value SAT scores as one part of the admissions process.
- PSAT/NMSQT - The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) is a standardized test administered by the College Board and cosponsored by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation in the United States. The PSAT/NMSQT can only be taken at a high school during the month of October. Tenth-grade students who take the PSAT/NMSQT as their free state assessment will use this as a practice test for the SAT and for the PSAT/NMSQT. To qualify for National Merit, students will need to take the test as juniors. The test can be paid for by the student or the building during the junior year.

The PSAT 10 is delivered in an online format with multiple-choice questions over 134 minutes. The PSAT 10 cannot be taken on a student’s own time outside of the school setting. Results include grade-level benchmarks on score reports to help students determine if they are on the right track to be college and career-ready.
- PSAT 8/9 - The PSAT 8/9 is a practice/diagnostic for the SAT that covers reading, writing, and mathematics.
