After School Care
-
Rogers Public Schools offers after-school care at a minimal cost for working families at most elementary schools (except Garfield and Grace Hill). Kid's World provides a safe and wholesome environment where students in kindergarten through fifth grade can be creative, have fun and have additional learning opportunities after school.
The after-school program is available at most of the elementary schools in the district until 5:30 p.m. (After-school care is currently not available at Garfield Elementary due to too few families needing the service. Grace Hill Elementary does offer an after-school program but through SOAR.)
Kid's World is licensed by the Arkansas Department of Human Services. The program has also achieved "quality approval status" from the state which means parents can claim a state income tax credit. All staff members are CPR trained.
Each day children can participate in a variety of activities including:- arts and crafts
- board games
- sports and recreation
- science and nature activities
- homework
- shared reading
- independent reading
- listening centers
- drama and theater
- blocks and construction
- music and movement
Children also receive a nutritious snack, which meets USDA guidelines.
