Rogers School Board Hires Several New Administrators

 

ROGERS – The Rogers Board of Education voted March 15 to approve the selection of several staff members for leadership positions for the 2022-2023 school year.

  • Kristy Brown, currently the principal for elementary students in the Rogers Virtual Learning program, will become the principal of Westside Elementary. Prior to leading RVL, Brown was an assistant principal at Lowell Elementary for four years. Her other roles in the district include being a literacy facilitator for five years, a school counselor for five years and an elementary teacher for three years. She also has worked at Harding University since 2010 as an adjunct professor. She completed a program of study to be a building level principal at Arkansas State University in 2015, a master’s degree in professional counseling from Harding University in 2009, and a bachelor’s in elementary education from Harding University in 1996.
  • Sarah Vanston, assistant principal at Northside Elementary, will be the new elementary principal for Rogers Virtual Learning. She has served as an assistant principal for the past 12 years, with nine years at Old Wire Road Elementary and most recently three years at Northside Elementary. She also took on an additional role as a site director of the 2021 summer intervention program. Her earlier experience includes 10 years of elementary teaching, with five years in Rogers and five years in Texas. She has earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Arkansas, a master’s from Harding University, and certification as a building administrator.
  • Brian Anderson, assistant principal at Tucker Elementary since 2019, has been selected as the next principal for Tucker. He was previously a teacher in the district for seven years at Kirksey Middle School and Grace Hill Elementary. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Southwest Baptist University in 2009 and a master’s in educational leadership from Arkansas State University in 2016. He also was a site director for the district’s summer intervention program in 2021.

Brandi Brooks

  • Brandi Brooks will move from the district’s interim to the permanent director for early childhood education. A national board certified educator, Brooks has worked in the district since 2004. Her experience includes one year as a kindergarten teacher, one year as a virtual teacher and 15 years as a pre-kindergarten teacher before she was asked to lead the pre-kindergarten program. She has a bachelor’s degree from University of the Ozarks, a master’s from Arkansas State University and building administrator certification from ASU.

Sarah Henry and Stephanie Schriner

  • Stephanie Schriner will move into the permanent role of Rogers Heritage High School assistant principal after substituting in that role for one year at Heritage and one year at Rogers High School. Schriner comes to Rogers with more than 30 years of experience in Michigan and Minnesota. She served as the principal of Novi (Mich.) Middle School for seven years and as its assistant principal for nine years. From 1999 to 2003, she was the assistant principal of North Middle School in Belleville, Mich. Her other experience includes 11 years as a teacher. Schriner has a bachelor’s degree from North Dakota State University in 1988 and a master’s from Eastern Michigan University in 1997. She is certified in building level administration.
  • Sarah Henry, currently a math facilitator, will become the assistant principal at Bonnie Grimes Elementary. With 18 years of educational experience, she has worked as a classroom teacher at Grimes and Westside for 14 years and for four years as a math facilitator at Lowell Elementary. Henry has a bachelor’s from Northeastern State University in 2003, and a master’s in educational leadership from Arkansas State University in 2021. She is certified in administration, early childhood education and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).
