Rogers Community Scholarship Program
The Community-Based Scholarship Program, founded in 1990, is made possible by the generous support and donations of our local Northwest Arkansas community. Donors include businesses, medical professionals, service companies, clubs and individuals who believe in the potential of our students. The Rogers Development Foundation works in partnership with Rogers Public Schools and the Rogers-Lowell Chamber of Commerce to coordinate funding and the selection of scholarship recipients.

PROCESS:
- Guidebook – Coming soon! For now, start collecting recommendation letters from 2-3 adults.
- Apply – Open Jan. 1-31, 2027 – Create SmarterSelect Account, and upload a photo, transcript, and essay.
- Celebrate – RPS holds a ceremony in April, 2027 for award recipients and special honorees. Watch for announcements!

Arkansas Financial Aid
State-based financial aid mainly come through FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aide) and the ADHE (Arkansas Department of Higher Education). In order to be awarded these scholarships, you must create an account, submit an application, and eventually, accept the award(s). Click the sections below for step-by-step instructions.

CREATE YOUR FSA ID:
Your FSA ID is your username and password. You will use it every year that you are in a program and applying for aid. If you have older siblings, your parent may already have one they will use. You must have an ID to submit the FAFSA.
- Who: The student and all required “Contributors.” (Usually a parent.)
- What you need: A unique personal email address for each person (Students – do not use your school email.). Students and contributors cannot use the same email. You will also need your Social Security Number if you have one.
- What to do: Go to Student Aid account set up to create your account.
GATHER REQUIRED INFORMATION:
You will need the following information for students and contributors.
- Federal Tax Returns and W-2s (2025-2026 applicants use 2023 data, 2026-2027 applicants use 2024 data, etc.)
- Records of money earned (all types of income)
- Records of assets (current bank and brokerage account statements, business or investment farm records, and records of unusual financial circumstances)
- A list of schools you want to apply to (up to 20)
COMPLETE THE FAFSA ONLINE:
- Go to the official website: Student Aid website
- Log in as the student to start the application. Do the student application first. The application opens on Oct. 1st.
- Ensure all contributors provide consent and approval for the IRS Direct Data Exchange(DDX). If consent is not provided, the student will not be eligible for federal student aid.
REVIEW AND FOLLOW UP:
- After you submit, you will receive a FAFSA Subission Summary (FSS) which replaces the old Student Aid Report.(SAR).
- Review this document for errors. If you need to make corrections, log back in to StudentAid.gov.
- Wait for your colleges to contact you with their financial aid offers. (Usually in the Spring)

The Arkansas Division of Higher Education awards many scholarships and grants to Arkansas students seeking higher education in Arkansas schools. Follow all three steps to be awarded funding. (Remember AAA.)
- CREATE YOUR ACCOUNT:
On or before Oct. 1st, create your ADHE SAMS account at this link: SAMS ADHE.
- APPLY:
Log into your account and fill out the application. Tips: enter that you have made a 19 on your ACT, even if you haven’t YET, so you will be considered for the Arkansas Challenge. Fill in a 32 on the ACT question if you are close and retaking the test, so you will be considered for the Arkansas Governor’s Distinguished Scholarship.
- ACCEPT your award:
You must go back into your account and accept your scholarship or grant by the due dates in order to receive your funding. The Governor’s Distinguished is due on March 1st every year. Most other scholarships are due July 1st. Check the ADHE website at this LINK to be sure.
National Scholarships
National-level scholarships are open to virtually any student. They can be found on search engines and university websites. These, along with community and state level scholarships, are posted on our social medias.
